One, two, buckle my shoe;
Three, four, shut the door;
Five, six, pick up sticks;
Seven, eight, lay them straight;
Nine, ten, a big fat hen!
Have your child pretend to do the actions as you recite the poem. Next, say the poem several times, leaving off the last word in each line for your child to finish.
